Sigh… I am back online at home.
Still waiting for my laptop to get fixed. Actually on hold right now with Apple. Listening to “Tough Boys” over and over and over and over and over… I am on hold because the voice recognition did recognize my “dispatch number” but when it went to “check my status for you” it just skipped to “thanks for calling” and hung up on me.
Ah, just got through to a real person. They opened up a new ticket with a new number. Thanks for telling me. Sigh.
Oh, and along with my new cable modem service, I also received my DSL modem too! Sweet! So apparently when I disconnected my service last week it was not so much a “disconnect” as it was a “do nothing.” So my Verizon DSL service is live, but I have no voice service. Odd, since I can’t have one without the other.
[Update] I just got an email from Apple:
Your service request has been completed and your product is on its way. Please allow two business days for delivery.

And, just for your irony-viewing pleasure, that email was sent to my Verizon account. You are killing me.
