Cranberry Sauce – Too Easy

How is this for easy.

Take a pound of cranberries and put them in a heavy-bottomed pot. Pour in a half cup of orange juice. Cook on medium heat until the cranberries pop. Add half cup of sugar. Keep stirring off and on until it looks like hot cranberry sauce.

Some Notes

You can cook these on high heat, just expect to stand there and stir, stir, stir, stir until it is done cooking. Use a bigger pot than the one pictured above unless you are cool with hot cranberry juice spitting up at you with each popped cranberry.

Your milage on the sugar will vary depending on the tart:sweet ratio you want. Want it sweeter? Add more sugar. Stir. Stir. Stir.

Put some plastic wrap or parchment against the sauce once it is in the bowl to keep a skin from forming.

You don’t need any other ingredients as cranberries have enough natural pectin in them that they gel on their own.

Makes enough for a lot of cranberry sauce-loving people.
