Lots of new clothing is on display. Good thing about a birthday and xmas at essentially the same time; Sagan gets a wardrobe update which is usually much needed.
Sagan turned 5 on December 22. She is not a baby anymore. We turned her bed over, so now it is in bunk-bed mode and she sleeps 5 feet above the floor. Which I am completely and utterly comfortable with. Really. This time I mean it.
Sagan’s right eye is weakening as time goes by so we are now doing vision therapy for her. All the therapy is game-based, so Sagan likes most of it. She doesn’t like the film we put on the left lens of her glasses for 2 hours a day, but it is better than a pirate patch. Says her. I might wear the patch to work just for fun. Yeah, I’ll be sure to get a raise.
We tried ballet this year. No dice at the place we went to. They are a professional company that has classes too. Far too demanding for 3-5 year olds. Closer to the spring we will try out gymnastics.
Sagan’s school is going well. She likes her teacher and seems to get smarter each week. It’s still on the expensive side, but I don’t mind going without food for my little girl. Yes Sagan, I am starving myself so you can go to a school that teaches you about social interactions, academics, and self-respect instead of sending you to a public-funded day care which is a little light on the “care.” I’ll eat again in 2007. Maybe some rice. Just a little.
Other than that, I hope to get Sagan writing some posts on this site later in the year. She seems on the verge of reading and she can write some words already.
