SXSW: Important Startup Decisions

At the Important Startup Decisions panel. Evan Williams, Joshua Schachter, Joel Spolsky, Michael Lopp (Moderator), and Cabel Sasser are speaking.

A short thread came up about location, which is something I am interested in. Where do you start a startup? Anywhere? I think I will ask about that if I get a chance.

Now we are spending a lot of time talking about Google and it’s hunger for startup people. That’s nice and all, but I think we can all agree that building to be eaten by Google is not a good business plan.

None of these guys had a business plan. Boom. Have an idea, build it and see.

Good enough for me.
