Still, it was an opportunity to explain to the kids what power is, and get them to think about why our phones and their toys still worked but the TV didn't. I used to like it because it was the only time the TV would be off for several hours and I could play the piano in peace. It made buying my current electric piano a big decision, cos I wouldn't be able to even play *that* the next time the power goes ...
